Yes, I think I ended up emailing the support contact listed in the app store. What I have in my email is:
"thank you for your report. Could you please make sure that you also have the same profile name (not just online username) on both of your devices? In addition, the profile name should be completely same as the online user name. We have most probably some bug in this which can be avoided until we fix it by this setting. Please let me know. thank you."
That pointed me in the right direction, but I don't recall exactly what I did. I do remember that it was a bit of work since tapping "Manage Account" links (or did at the time) to CGE Online, which wasn't what I was expecting. Also, be mindful that your online user-name and your profile name are separate things.
