Spartan1337 Hello sir, I totally see your point, but here is how I look at it. In my opinion resigning in this instance is totally ok and its part of your strategy to plan ahead and think it through, if the player you are declaring war against is indeed going to resign. You can still do it for the extra 7 points or you can calculate that you are better off waring 2nd best target or even waiting one more turn so that you can declare war in such a way, that there will be age IV on his turn, thus he wont be able to resign (you cannot resign in age IV). I actually like this part of the game that you have to make calculations and educated guesses on your opponents behavior and different outcomes. In many occasions I have declared war against someone that was not my prime target and it was the correct line of play.
