I noticed (and some other people just told me) that on tournaments, leagues, were there are points system, on 4 players games specially, people plays the game looking to the league and so on, and that influence their decision making. I am not criticising it, just talking about it. Some people might like it, some people might think this adulterates the game being played (in more or less degree).
So I thought that perhaps there could be an option to be customized when creating the game "anonymous players". If that feature is enabled, players would not see the names of the other players inside the game, just their colour (inside the game screen, on the right side, they would not have the name of the players associated to the colours and order of the turn. Everything would be the same, but without names... they would be renamed, for this game "green, blue, red, yellow".
This could provide extra settings for some tournaments or leagues (if they please), so people play the game for the actual game, and not looking at the classification on the league, but focus on the actual game. Once again, I propose it as an OPTION to be enabled o disabled when the game is created. Tournaments and leagues would decide them. It causes no harm, and even if worse case scenario it was marginally used, it would be a benefit for them, causing no harm to the rest of the community.
Is it an important feature? No. But it would not harm anyone, and potentially could be benefit part of the community, and it would be easy to implement.
But since this is an option, tournaments or leagues would decide to embrace it or not... and that is fine. Let them decide. It is just an easy to design/program extra customization option while creating the game.
