Start spectating a game
To begin spectating a game you will need a code. Each game has its unique code for purposes of spectating. You can obtain this code in multiple ways. For example, you will receive this code from a player participating in the game you want to spectate (I will show you how to share a code for your game later in this tutorial).
Once you have a code, navigate to the online lobby. There you will find a round button with an eye symbol.
Click it and you will be prompted to enter the code.
Once you type in the code, press OK. You will see an overview of the game with the selector of the round from which to start spectating the game.
Press the Load button and you will see the game with spectating UI, where you can pause the replay to have time to review the board or switch to a different round.
Do not worry! While spectating, you are not able to see the military cards of players participating in the game. This means you will not be able to anticipate the future moves of your opponents by peaking in their military hand using this feature.
Share your game
To share your game code you will need to load into your game first. Once you are in the game navigate to the game menu. In this menu, there is a button "Share game".
After you click that button, the code will be copied into your clipboard for easy pasting. Alternatively, you can write it down from the pop-up that displays it as well.
Settings for spectate
You can set how and if your games are possible to be spectated. It can be unlimited, meaning both your finished and running games are visible, you can limit it only to your finished games, or non at all.
Each game has multiple players participating. It is possible that these players have different settings. The most strict rule of all players applies to the specific game. You will always be able to spectate games you participate in no matter the setting of other players.
To change the setting you need to navigate to account.czechgames.com and log in. Then navigate to the Games tab. There you will see a part dedicated to Through the Ages:
By pressing the Game Settings button you will be able to set the settings for Spectate mode.
