Hello, I am the tournament owner. This is my first tournament, so please bear with me. What I am writing here is a clarification of the somewhat ambiguous tournament description.
I hope that no one is offended for being blocked from this tournament. What I meant to say in the description is that your AVERAGE RESULT must be under 55%. I am enforcing this strictly. This tournament is for lesser mortals.
The idea of the structure is to allow any player to have a possibility of winning until the very last round. There is no elimination until that time, and you will continue to have a chance to win until that time.
Victory points will be awarded normally in each round. 100 - 50 - 25 -0.
The first two rounds are a sort of round-robin. Point totals will not carry over from round to round except as a tiebreaker (more on that below). The first round only serves as a way to seed players for the second round.
In the second round 2 winners and 2 losers from each group in the first round will be paired together. Bottom line, is that there is not too much difference between the first and second round. Results from the first round do not carry over except to make sure that two winners and two losers are in each 4 player group. I will do my best to mix it up, so that there are different players playing each other in the second round.
In the third round, there will be a winners bracket and a losers bracket. The result from the second round will determine which players are in the winners bracket and which players are in the losers bracket. Two players from each 4-player group with the best cumulative score in their 4-player group from round two will advance to the winners bracket. Results from the first round will only be incorporated in order to break ties.
The fourth round (the "final four") will consist of the THREE players from the winners bracket with the best third-round scores and the ONE player from the losers bracket with the best third-round score. To get into the final, players will be compared to all other players within their bracket (in a ranked list), not just against the three players that they competed against in round three. Again, scores from all previous rounds will only be used to break ties.
I hope this clarifies things. Please post any questions if you feel this needs further clarification.
Enjoy!
