I need 2 replacement players for the Second Stage of a 4-stage, 16-player Tournament. We are about to start stage 2.
These 2 players will enter the tournament at the start of Stage 2 and will be awarded the mode score of the Stage 1 scores of the remaining 14 players. Stage 1 scores are only used to break ties in future stages, so you are not handicapped in a significant way.
Details of the Tournament:
ELIGIBILITY
All Players have AVERAGE RESULT of less than 55% - This is a tournament for lesser mortals.
IDEA OF THE TOURNAMENT
This is a 4 stage Tournament for 16 players. The idea of the tournament is to allow all players a chance to get into the "final 4" even if the perform poorly in the first two stages. If you perform well, it becomes easier to get into that final stage; However, you will never be completely without a chance of "winning it all" until right before the final stage.
DURATION
Each player is required to play a total eighteen games in 3 stages of six games each. Only the top four players will advance to the "final four" (4th stage) to play an additional six games to determine the winner of the tournament.
HOW IT WORKS
Stage 1 is seeded randomly and only serves to seat players for Stage 2.
Each 4-player Stage 2 group will have two winners and two losers from each stage 1 group.
Stage 1 ties will be resolved with a coin flip.
All players will play against a completely different group of opponents in each of the first 2 Stages, and will play six games against the same four opponents in each stage.
Stage 3 will have an 8-player winners bracket and an 8-player losers bracket based on the results from Stage 2. Results from Stage 1 will only be used to break ties - using the combind full score of both Stages.
Within each bracket, players will be seeded based on combined round 1 and round 2 scores, with the two strongest and two weakest players in different 4-player groups within their bracket.
The final stage (Stage 4) will be the top THREE players from the winners bracket and the top ONE player from the losers bracket. To get into this final Stage of 6 games, players will be ranked against the entire field of eight players in their Stage 3 bracket using only the stage 3 results. Again, the results of the 2 previous stages will only be used to break ties - using the combined total score from all three stages.
SCORING / PLAY
4 stages, 6 games each stage - minimum of 3 games at a time.
Scoring is 100-50-25-0
Negative 25 points if you time-out or allow bot substitution. PLEASE RESIGN INSTEAD.
This tournament is for Live players.
There is no penalty for resignation.
TIMING OUT / BOTS
If a bot is allowed to enter a game, the player who is replaced by the bot scores negative 25 points. The bot will continue to play in place of the player. The other players will then place normally relative to the bot ( e.g. if the bot comes in first, then the best live player will be second and will only receive 50 points).
Scores do not carry over from stage to stage except to break ties using current cumulative total score.
