This will be my first Tournament. Do I get placed in wood league and have to win my way up, or is there some sort of placement matches? I might be more skilled than wood league players and the matches could end up being very one sided.
International Championship
CleanerCode I carefully seed new players based on their in app level and win percentage. There is a chance you will start in Bronze.
Hello pajada, thanks for organising this! I participated in the last season but I didn't get no notification. On CGE Online I only had the app notification on, I turned the e-mail notification on as well now. Will I get a notification for the next season or do I have to keep a look out for it? Thanks again!
berpdreyfuss you should get also the email notification now (but sometimes it goes to spam...). To be sure you can visit directly the tournament page https://account.czechgames.com/tournaments/detail/21 between November 13 and 26 when sign up for the next season will be open.
pajada Great, I will do that, thanks!
@pajada I guess that seats are randomly assigned, is that correct? Have you considered, and is it technically possible, to assign seats in a more structured way? Since everyone plays four 4p-games, it is possible that everyone has 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th seat all exactly once . Similar for the three 3p-games.
weisswurst Yes, seats are randomly assigned because CGE tournament mode doesn't allow to seed players on exact seats in a game. I can ask CGE developers if this is possible and if they are willing to implement it.
pajada Hello, something very weird just happened in one of my tournament games.
I played an event card and the event I triggered was Rebellion. I had an unhappy person (change of age) so i lost two actions and so did one other player. I played my turn and hit end turn. A couple of hours later I have gone back into the game to do some thinking and now it is saying that the action I triggered was Scientific Breakthrough, not Rebellion! The player that lost two action points no longer has lost them (and are yet to take their turn) but I still had to play my turn with less action points. But now I have more science which was not available to me during the turn!
I post this as a bug report rather than to complain about my match, and have reported it to CGE as a bug report.

pajada Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place but I thought to ask here.
I'm playing in Wood 18 and one of us got timed out in Turn 17, his turn then played by the AI.
At round 18 I declare a War Over Culture, I'm the 1st player (76 military) the AI player goes 3rd (19 military)
at the start of the AI turn they did resigned, the War Over Culture got out of the game and I scored 7 culture.
Is this the way it should be?
If there is some info that I have missed I will understand, it will be my mistake,
is only that if I knew (or if the AI player was out of the choices when I declared the war)
I would have taken my war somewhere else... (frustrated face )
Any player (human or AI) can resign as their political action. They can't do it if Age IV already started. Everyone who declared War against that player will receive 7 culture (even for War over Territory or Technology), all pacts with this player are cancelled, future civil decks are adjusted and card row starts moving faster.
This is all part of the rules exactly how Vlaada designed it.

pajada Right, indeed the rulebook is clear about it.
The think that got me confused is that the player got timed out,
AI played round 17 and it got Resigned at Round 18.
I got the impression that the AI will continue the game.
Anyway is not a serious turn off the game is still close,
I'll try my best! Thanks for your answer!
Thanks for organizing this tournament! I'm having a great time in it. These games are very exciting.
Kejml Yeah, but the timing of resignation sometimes seems a bit random. In the previous tournament, I have had a similar situation. One player timed out, got replaced by a bot. Bot plays weakly, especially weak in military. Another player plays a war against him, putting the bot in a sure last place, winning 40 culture points. I played a war against the bot as well, and it resigned.
I have had several games with bots replacing timed-out players in the mean time. From my experience, at the moment a bot enters the game, the game dynamics really change. The game evolves more about who is the best in exploiting the stupidness of the bots. Feels a bit silly sometimes.

weisswurst I’ve also seen the bot offer unnecessary pacts to the leading player that improved that player’s position to the disadvantage of both the bot and the other trailing players. Quite annoying.
Maybe it would be more fair if a timed-out player would just resign automatically, at least in tournament games. Would that be possible? @pajada
weisswurst That's my wish too, but currently it is not possible. CGE is not planning to develop it I asked them.
