This is such a beautiful digital game adaptation that I've often praised over the years, but I now have to temper that because this design flaw is game-breaking. Just had a game get messed up because of an accidental event play while the user was trying to close the app. On iOS, this gesture requires a swipe up from the bottom of the screen which is _way too _ close to the same gesture as playing an event.
We need a setting to disable this UI interaction to play an event, and require tap -> play button instead.
