I play mostly 2p games. Lately I've noticed that often high level players would leave my games when starting to loose. This happened in more than 10 games in the past week and got me suspecious. I checked some of the profiles and noticed a high win percentage. Which led me to think that abandoning may not be counted properly.
So I decided to test it and I was correct. It was in a game where I had no chance of winning at the end of age 3. I checked the total game count before abandoning and few hours later. It was the same not counting the abondoned game.
Even if I think myself as a competitive person, that's not what is bothering me here. The issue is that it is insentivising abondoning vs resignation. The result is waste of time for the other player(s). And it appears that many players are aware of that.
I believe it should be the opposite: abandoning should be punished, because it results in very unpleasant experience, especially in 3+ player games. I hope that this is something easy to resolve. I don't care if past games would be accounted for. A good suggestion is an announcement in the app, so players who are practicing this become aware of the closed loophole.
As a side note: it would be nice, if you can add win% in the in-game profiles next to total games count.
