I had a change of heart and we'll start this championship when we reach 16 players. There are a few constraints when setting up public tournaments and that the reason for the change... Also, contacted players who decline to confirm their place of residence in the Oz/NZ/PI will not be allowed to join the championship. Cheers

Great job on getting the tournament up and running Diogenes. I often thought an ANZ/Pacific group would help encourage local players, especially with the common timezone allowing faster play.

Hi Diogenes - what's the policy for splitting people on equal points? Will it be based on head to head results like with the International Championship?

I'm not sure but I think the system splits them based on the total number of points... Sorry took so long to answer.

Looks like there is a bug with Game 20. We just finished but it is recording all players as having timed out... I have the screenshot of final scores and will email CGE about it.

Final scores were:
Majondor: 291

LordBC: 282
Brumynut: Resigned.

With one match to finish, the championship was a surprisingly strong and disputed affair. Congrats to Majondor - the minor premier, dominating the contest with an outstanding number of victories - 8. Well done mate. Also acknowledging 2nd and 3rd places - Lord BC and WonderingWolf. Well done guys.
I might have unintentionally screwed up the set up for the next round(s). If I allowed for two more stages then I'm good to my word, however, if I've allowed for only one then top 8 will fight for the title in a group and last 8 will fight for the avoidance of the wooden spoon in another group. I'll see what's what after the first stage is finished. Cheers

if it doesnt work out as planned - could you not create a new private tournament and invite the finalists? I really liked your idea of 2x group of 4p semi-finals.....

I've made up my mind. The next stage will see 4 groups playing 1 match each. Places 1-4 in one group, places 5-8 second group and so on. Winner of group 1 is the winner of the 1st ANZP Championship. I've learned from this and I'll set up the next one in 3 stages as I originally planned. I'll also change the points structure to 3-2-1-0 (one point per opponent defeated) as it reflects better the win/loss ratio. Good luck!
