Ε½iΕΎka's Ladder
Welcome to round 1 everyone! I've organized us into 10 groups named alphabetically from highest (A) to lowest (J). Random seeding just so happened to put me in A but I swear it was random
I'm going to keep it capped at 20 players for now just to keep the rounds shorter and the space a little more intimate. That said, I'm sure we will have players who want to quit or will timeout so I encourage you all to tell your friends about this and get them on the waitlist. And I may expand to 30 if the waitlist allows.
Good luck in round 1!
I'd have thrown everybody in one group first season, then make two groups with winners and losers the following season and so on until you are left with 2p-groups. That would have avoided random seeding of someone in the last group, losing that game and having to leave. Just imagine you'd have to play pajada in group J first season!
Last group is Zizka, because he kicks you out of the tournament.

@Japhet I've just found out that Zizka's leader promotion and relegation system is not that great.
If I start in even group (B, D, F, H, J) I can play only with players from these groups for eternity unless I lose in J or win in A. The same of course applies also for odd groups.
In season 1 all players who started in even groups play in even groups. In season 2 all these players move to odd groups, in season 3 they are back in even groups, etc.
Interesting point, pajada! But there is another way in which you can have more variety which is if your previous opponent wins in group 1 or loses in group 10. In fact if they lose in group 10, they are out next round.
But that said, this is a good argument for keeping the group size small. Otherwise there are more players stuck in the middle playing the same 2 opponents.
Update for this round: I'm finally enforcing the rule mentioned about losing in group 10. Pelej lost for a 3rd time and I would like fresh blood in here Welcome, Firedart.
@Japhet I think there is no progress in group 7 because of a time out. Maybe you can do something about this.

Thanks Weidenbaum and congrats on your win. It appears that LaoHuang timed out and khyung did not finish the match with the AI right away. It's all taken care of now. In the future if your opponent times out, please finish, abandon, or resign right away so that the ladder can continue (you get the win no matter what you do).
treitze will take LaoHuang's place in rung 8.
Hey folks, I need to retire from async games. I've had a ton of fun but I feel like it's time to move on and experience life without this game buzzing around in my head all day. I will coordinate the next round myself but after that I am looking for someone who is willing to take over as admin here. It's pretty easy. Just 12 Rungs to seed every couple weeks and I can share a spreadsheet I made to make it easier. If you're interested, please reply here and I'll get in touch.
The round has begun! If anyone wants to continue the ladder after this point, let me know and I'll make you admin. Good luck to all.
I took over organization of this tournament from Japhet. If you will have any questions, suggestions, etc. please send them to my email pajada@gmail.com
How much extra time was there fore each game? I remember doing my turn yesterday and noticing I had 35 hours of extra, and just saw now that I've timed out. Apologies if I just read it wrong and took to long to do my turn!
pajada OK, thats really weird. I was pretty sure I had 35 minutes of reserve at maybe 12 o clock one day (my only doubt was that if there was only 12 hours of reserve, I would of course have remembered wrong), then did my turn, and then 5 o clock the next day I notice I've timed out.
Yeah, I would if possible. Sorry about the time out.
Merry Christmas everyone! I will not start next round earlier than on January 2.
