With this format, many ties will happen and I feel like "total culture" is not a good way to break ties after head-to-head record :
- Some games are low culture, some games are high culture. Why one should be better than the other ?
- Resignations are problematic for the winner (you don't get all the culture points you should)
If we want to avoid to play tiebreakers, the rule in The International after head-to-head record is better in my opinion :
"Average percentage of winner's score from all games"
An adaptation for duel could be "Percentage of the other player score" (limited to the games between the players involved in the tie or not). Maybe with a hard cap at 200% or 300% to account for resigns.
I feel like it takes care of both problems.
