After just 5 days since the tourney started, Group 58 is first out of blocks! Congrats to Genghisip and Sergeeeee for moving on through the next round.

First round has ended after 34 days, eliminating 25 seeded players and the 2021 champion.
Interestingly, the least two experienced players SimTubez and Vangelisb are through the second round! Well done guys!
Two of last year's finalists (borostar & Swampzombie) and three of the 2020 AO finalists are through (pajada, silent_x111 and 2020 champion - treitze) are also through second round.
treitze and pajada will meet again in group 8, your organiser will try to squeeze through in group 13 facing last year's runner-up and the current holder of the Int'l Championship title plus the unpredictable stanel, but the death group has to be group 25 where 4 seeded players will fight for two spots in the 3rd round.

The second round has ended after 34 days as well! 19 seeded players are still in the race to win the 2022 AO. We're going to have a new champion, the 2020 champion treitze timing out.
Vangelisb made it through the third round. Quite a performance.
All previous finalists (20/21) who made it through round two, progressed in the round.
Your organiser bowed out.

The third round has been particularly harsh with the seeded players, more than halving the number of seeded players from 19 to 9!
From the previous finalists just pajada, silent_x111 and Swampzombie made it through to the 4th round.
The StarLakeGuy might be the least experienced player to make it to the 4th round yet. Congrats!

Congratulations quarterfinalists!
Again, the seeded players had a tough day at the office. Just 4 of them managed to qualify for the next stage.
silent_x111 and Swampzombie are the only previous finalists to make it through...and they are both fighting for a place in the semis in group 4.

Sorry about that silent. I get the frustration but really not much to do there, game developed in the direction where I could not defend the ongoing wars and possible future wars. Loss of sovereignty I saw as ok at that point, before you revealed positional army. My thinking was that Totsilence can still probably outscore me even if you war him and at that point I saw my defense as pretty ok vs. Defensive army + other stuff. Then there was plunder and I could not find a way to go for both AF and Manhattan so I was a sitting duck. The other play I considered was canceling the pact and defending as best I can.

Thanks @Diogenes for the awesome tournament, it was a blast! Congrats to everyone in the finals, I think it was a very even and exciting game and could have gone either way. So @Himmelstosh, my blood was not quite as cold as you think ;-) See you all next year!
