I watched a friend's game. He resigned, so he should have been recorded as 0 pts for loss, but his group is showing him at -5 as though he timed out. Please clarify rules around resignation or correct how scoring is done for resignations.

ZenosHoplite After approval by CGE I updated the rule about penalization for replacement by AI because there is no way how to distinguish between time out and abandoning the game (unless you manually replay the game) and also because some players don't know about the difference between resignation (game immediately ends with a loss) and abandoning (player is replaced by AI).
This rule is now changed to this:
If player runs out of time, resign or abandon a game they will receive a loss and their opponent will be awarded with a win.

I got a loss in my match against Gina72 (in group 98) where he timed out from the beginning. But acording to the rules you don't need to beat the AI to be awarded the win?
... yeah, I suck. I lost to the AI because I didn't take time to think.

I'm in the same group as Druen and Gina72 timed out also in my match. Do I have to play the match all the way to the end or I can simply resign/abandon?

Ulyssess You don't need to finish the match, just please RESIGN and win will be awarded to you.
Do NOT abandon the game (replacement by AI) this would assign you a loss for that match.

HeirOfValyria and Papella unfortunately I can't add you to the tournament even when some players run out of the time because it wasn't in the rules before the tournament and opponents of these players can would be in disadvantage in comparison to the current state - automatic win.

Didn't know where else to notify someone, but my current game is frozen. It is showing me on the clock, but I took my turn and shows the next players turn (hellomruopercut) when I log into the game. The countdown is still going against me though. I notified support as well. All my other games going in TTA are fine, including the other world championship game.

Fullynice You may send a bug report to the game official, and they will hopefully fix this for you

Hello again pajada, I did resign as you instructed me but I didn't get the two points for the win. The points are supposed to be awarded automatically or will you later update the table manually? Just to understand how it works, thanks

Ulyssess hi Ulyssess, it is fixed now. CGE was very kind and implemented this feature for the World Championship (before I did it manually for my other tournaments).
CGE is also working on tiebreaker rules so in a week when all the games in a group could be finished players will be able to see who is promoted to the next stage.

pajada My opponent in group 33 timed out and I resigned the game as other players were instructed to in these circumstances. However, I was awarded a loss for the match. Could you confirm whether this will be updated manually later? Many thanks in advance (and thanks for organising all of this)!

Hey pajada, i have a suggestion for the tiebreak of stage 5 rules. In case of a 5th game tie (3-3), would u consider changing it to the player who started more at 2nd from ALL THE 5 games will advance? Seems like its unfair if i started at 2nd at the first 4 games, and i started first just once in the 5th game and losing the tiebreak...

rap2 I don’t know if it is possible but I think it’s best to have the players alternate in 1st and 2nd in the first 4 games.

rap2 DANeo discuss something about this before 26 days. It's very hard to get a conclusion on that 1st or 2nd player has more advantage. Even if CGE has TTApulse data, the data would be influenced by inexperienced or non-top players. I have an idea that one more extra blitz game is acceptable for the top 16 players.

rap2 you may noticed that in Stage 1 each player played 2 times from 1st seat and 2 times from 2nd seat. That's not a coincidence but it was done programmatically.
For Play-off it will be the same - starting player will alternate and the player who played from the 2nd seat in the 5th game will play 3 times from that seat. So it will be as fair as possible.

Hi @pajada, we do have a bit of an issue as our running game with @Zelbot is frozen. I contacted support but I fear that we get kicked out of our game before they can do something about it - is there by chance any way for you to pause the timer of our game? Thanks a lot for your help (and for organizing this!)
