rap2 On TTA Pulse there is more than 20 000 games played and draw is counted as a win for 2nd player. Even with this special rule win percentage of 1st player is 50.285%, so it is slightly advantageous to play first (but not much).

pajada i wonder if a blind statistic shows whether p1 'really' has a (slight) advantage over p2, or whether this could be an implication of a lot of 'unoptimal play'. I think: Yes (it does show that). But could it theoretically be, that with optimal play p2 is even or even has a slight advantage?

Before we had these statistics, some players in our group thought p2 had a significant advantage (mainly due to endgame impact control; free strength / science / culture in some scenarios). I never agreed. Just wondering if these statistics evidently disprove the claim. 🙂 Any game theory / statistics experts here?

What does "Average winning score only from head to head games of tied players" mean?

There WILL be 3+-way ties (three players at 3-1; or all players at 2-2), so you better define a good tiebreaker 🙂

Eske Let's say players A, B and C are tied and these were the results of games between them:
A won against B 100: 90
B won against C 200:160
C won against A 300:210

Points from head to head games of tied players are tied (2 points each).
Let's look at average culture of winning score:

A have average winning score (100/100 + 210/300) / 2 = 85%
B have average winning score (90/100 + 200/200) / 2 = 95%
C have average winning score (160/200 + 300/300) / 2 = 90%

@pajada Hi, a lot of boardgame players also would like to watch the World Championship, but they do not have the CGE account, so they can not aceess to the link of World Championship. Can you solve the problem with CGE for them?

DANeo Hi DANeo, I discussed it with the best statistician I know (mlhibou) and from the data we have 1st seed is advantageous. I designed the World Championship in a way that tie should not have big impact. It is counted as a half of win and only in tiebreakers it can be decisive.

I would like a clarification on the sportsmanship part; and having only one account in the tournament. As some of you know, i like to play TTA in "coop" with friends (which would not break this rule, only one account here). Is this strictly forbidden for the tournament? If so, please add it as a clarification.
(I know this cannot be reasonably controlled, but i do think people would stick to the rules if they were clearly stated in this regard.)

DANeo I discussed it with CGE and we will add a rule prohibiting cooperation of players on one account (I'm applying the same rule also to my other tournaments).
Added rule:
Don't seek advice when you play games in this championship. You can ask your friend generic questions like do you like the Library of Alexandria or Pyramids. But sharing screenshots, asking for exact actions to be taken is prohibited.

It's hard to reach 1250 players on Nov. 15th. How will you solve this? I have an idea as follows: 4 players per group and 6 games per player in stage 4 or stage3? 32X2X2.5X2.5X2.5=1000，32X2X2X2.5X2.5=800

If two players have the same points and the result of their head-to-head games is 1:1, 1 extra blitz game is acceptable.

Or dividing 6 players per group in stage 4, 4 players stay in the tournament at the end of the stage.

mm34nn yes, 1250 was quite ambitious. Currently I'm aiming for 625 players which will change the structure only a little bit.
Stage 1 - 625 players
Stage 2 - 250 players
Stage 3 - 100 players
Stage 4 - 40 players
Stage 5 - 16 players will play single-elimination
