That is standard league structure used in many sports with relegation/promotion
If there was same number of relegated and promoted teams than there would be only 1 group of 7 players per tier, meaning there would be 79 tiers... In best case scenario you would be placed in 31st tier, just imagine how many seasons would you need to reach 1st tier...

Since this season got so many new players in league, yea, 6th and 7th tier are bit random, but with every new season it will got more balanced and more easier to get promotion if you deserve it, GL

pajada I guess that if the player base will grow, the new players will be placed in the Wood division, not in Bronze, correct (and in Clay if the growth is large enough)? And 64 players (32*2) from Bronze will relegate to Wood anyway, regardless of players base growth (and only less than 64 will relegate if player base decreases so much that less than 64 players in Wood will be placed), is that also correct? So, this means that 64 players from Wood will promote to Bronze, regardless of growth. Means four players per league as there are only 16 Wood leagues, is my understanding correct?

Thanks a lot for the organization by the way! 🙂

weisswurst For current season 10 new players were divided this way: 5 gold (Vlaada, Genghisip, thenobleknave, Sylvain, Kolo), 46 silver, 202 bronze, 112 wood. I used level in application and win rate in application as seeding criteria.
I don't think that adding new players for season 11 only to wood is better than the plan I will describe now.
Wood league has 7 players and to promote 4 of them doesn't feel hard enough compared to promotions between other divisions. In addition new players are often stronger than Wood players. So I plan to promote 1st and 2nd places (32 players) and fill the remaining 32 players to Bronze with new players. But it is dependent on how many new players will come, how many players will leave, etc.
But I can promise you, that 1st and 2nd places from Wood leagues will be promoted.

pajada I think with 32 bronze leagues it would make sense to relegate only one player from each bronze and split them into 16 wood...and promote first 2 players from wood into bronze

Tuty If player base will grow from current 553 to 889 players this championship will have 64 Wood leagues. I don't expect it, but it can happen. If player in current season will be placed 6th in Bronze league I think it is fair to relegate him to Wood.

Hello. I have a -1 point in one game that i couldn't finish because of a bug. Can you please fix it?

      It was in Bronze 21

kunayala please contact support@czechgames.com and tell them about the bug. Please do it as soon as possible. You ran out of time in that game. I think they can revert it if it was caused by bug.

A hypothetical question about sportsmanship; Lets say I have a crushing point lead in one of my games accompanied by a large military advantage, is it unethical for me to do a war that is likely weaker than my other options (but still likely to win me some points) against a player with better tournament standings with the idea of trying to make them place worse in the tourney(theory being that my first place spot is undoubted either way but would have a larger point margin from second with other options). This situation didn’t quite come up but if one of my opponents had a weaker military( or me stronger) it might’ve become a real possibility.

colonize_N It's always hard to give universal ruling, but in this exact case you are describing it is fine.

In league standings you are 1st and player Mighty is 2nd. Let's say you play 4-player game together and if he will be placed 3rd or 4th you will be promoted no matter how remaining games will finish.
Let's say all players have 200 culture and your strength is 100, you can declare War over Culture on him even if he can build army with strength 80, even when other two players are able to build only to 40.

@pajada It looks like Silver 6, the league I'm in, has a player who has timed-out on all of their games.

The app just started our next round of games, and this player is in those games and is replaced by an AI Bot even before their first turn has begun. I assume this must be an intentional part of the tournament system, to ensure equal number for 3-player and 4-player games?

In this case, is my understanding correct: The player (now an AI bot) will be placed as last place in all games they participate in, no matter their Culture Score? This means that declaring Wars and Aggressions on the AI bot becomes less important, since their score doesn't matter in then end, yes?

Cyphen Yes, you get it right.
And he was replaced by AI from the beginning? Hmm, that's something new for me, I will ask CGE if this is intentional or no.

pajada Thank you for the prompt reply!
I did not get a screenshot. However, the player had the AI "gears" icon by their name at the point when I took my very first turn. I am player 2, and the AI is player 4, so they did not have a chance to take a turn and time-out yet.

The bot score still matters though if you finish behind the bot because even though that player doesn't take the points you also don't get promoted into that position (at least from what I saw in my last game). e.g. If bot takes 2nd and you finish 3rd, you still only get tournament points for 3rd place, you don't get promoted to 2nd place points. That seems to be the case anyway as I was bad enough to finish 3rd with a bot 2nd in my latest game!

Strange the bot took over at the start though. I've had bots in every game so far and had to wait for the timeout 1st turn each time.

Glamdring What you've described is counter to what @pajada said in his reply to my question. He confirmed my statement that "the AI bot player will be placed last in all games they play no matter their Culture score." I declared a huge War on Culture against another player (instead of the AI Bot, who is currently in first place) based on Pajada's response, so I hope he was telling the truth!

I believe that the reason you see yourself getting Tournament Points for a 3rd place finish (instead of a 2nd place finish) is due to the following passage in the Tournament Rules:

Every player who runs out of time will be placed last with score 0 points independently of the score of AI who replaced them.
This will not be reflected directly on this web, final standings will be done in Google Docs manually (link comming soon).

So, I think it is simply that the CGE Tournament System does not display the score in the manner that Pajada has described the tournament rules. In your specific example, Pajada will be giving you points for a 2nd place finish on his Google Docs, even if it's not reflected on the CGE Tournament System.

Ah, OK, that makes sense. That would certainly result in a few points adjustments in my group where bots finished 2nd in 4 games!

                  Hi,

When will be announced the next season? Will current players be invited to join the next season or should they check the forum to see when it is created?

I suppose that the results of the current season after the adjustments that CGE does not contemplate will be also published somewhere.

Thanks for the effort of organizing this.

I vote for One Turtle Speed as well, please. : )

While One Turtle Speed would make the tournament more enjoyable for some, it would also mean that some other players wouldn´t be able to join the tournament anymore, because One Turtle Speed is not easy to handle if you have not so much free time. Therefore I think the current game speed is perfectly fine as it allows more people to join this great tournament.
