Slow games of 12 hours per shift and 2 bank days per age?
that adds up to a month of time bank. I estimate that this would extend the games to at least 3 months each.
It would take 2 years to close the tournament. Isn't faster games better?

Is it possible to have different time allowances say 6 hours for daytime (say 7:00am to 10:00pm AEST) and 12 hours for nighttime?

Paakit The same time setting was used in previous years and the tournament always ended some months before the end of the year.

Thank you, I just started playing tournaments now and the truth is that it is impractical to connect twice a day

      G'day ladies and gents.
The 4th edition of the Aussie Open is now live.
      Good luck and enjoy!

Round 1 is over. More than one-third of the seeded players didn't make it, including your organiser...
The 2021 and 2022 AO winners remain in the competition but the inaugural winner (treitze) bowed out. I noticed very few time-outs, which can only mean the quality of the competitors is increasing.
Congrats to all qualified players! There are no easy matches in round 2 but group 6 looks like a treat to spectate.
        Good luck!

Late comment for Round 2. Life & Co steals my time shamelessly.
2021 Champion - Dirkules and 2020 finalist and all-rounder champion pajada have not qualified for the 3rd Round !
Funny how Grammarly wants me to change "pajada" in pyjama 🙂.
19 seeded players, including Seed No 1 - Lao Huang, made it through.
Keep well, good luck and fight hard for that trophy!

3rd round is done and dusted. Congrats to the qualified players!
No player under 40 experience has qualified.
3 out of the 4 finalists of 2022 AO are still in competition including last year's winner. Sqwndw, a finalist last year missed the promotion by a whisker finishing with the same number of points as LaoHuang and due to the superior experience rank, Lao went through. Last year's semi-finalist Eepogi is through as is the last year's quarter-finalist SpartacusImperator.

Good luck to all of you! Wish I was good enough to compete at this stage 😆 .

The Quarters! Congrats to the qualified players.
The last year's champion marches on, as are the rest of the "usual suspects" mentioned in my post above.

              Good luck!

The Semis!! Last year's champion has bowed out as were most of the "usual suspects" with the notable exception called Eepogi - the last seeded player still in the competition. We'll have a new champion. Good luck!!

Congratulations St4nkk for winning the Championship! Amazing performance throughout!

Congratulations to St4nkk! Our new AO champion. I was traveling for business as the last moves of the final were made and I didn't want to comment before spectating the final. Which I just did. Great non-confrontational game, based on construction rather than destruction. Hope you all enjoyed the tourney. And for the first time since our inaugural 2020 AO, the winner is not from Germany. Well done all. The trophy now goes to Poland.
